Membership:

We recommend that everyone with an interest in equines and in preserving and expanding horse-friendly trail riding join the Horse Council*. Our ability to educate and influence is only as strong as our membership, so if the Horse Council speaks to issues that are important to you send in your membership application* and help increase the focus on horses in Western New York. In addition to educational work we support diverse local equine activities such as trail riding, shows, and therapeutic riding.

When you choose to apply for membership* it is important to select a chapter with which you will be affiliated. You should make this selection based on your place of residence. Those of you who live in Western New York should select the Western Chapter. Doing so will include you in our affiliate and also return a portion of your membership fee to be used to fund the chapter's expenses in conducting local and regional equine education activities.  The application you download from this page already has the Western Chapter selected for you.  If you obtain an application from another source be sure to circle or mark Western Chapter before sending it in.

An important benefit of selecting a chapter affiliation is access to $1,000,000 in equine liability insurance provided through the horse council. Please open the Horse Council Insurance Program FAQ for more information. In addition the informative and well-written Equine Update newsletter is provided as a free benefit to all chapter members.  We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the Horse Council.!

* Application form requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to be installed on your computer.
